Joe Johnson Equipment is pleased to announce its sale to Federal Signal Corporation

Joe Johnson Equipment (“JJE”) announced today the signing of a definitive agreement to sell substantially all of its assets and operations to Federal Signal Corporation (NYSE:FSS) (“Federal”).  The transaction is expected to close by the end of the second quarter of 2016. 

JJE is Canada’s largest and one of North America’s leading infrastructure-maintenance equipment suppliers.  JJE has been proudly serving municipalities, contractors, haulers and industrial companies for years in Canada, Chile and areas of the US.

Federal is a leader in environmental and safety solutions, and is the parent company of Vactor Manufacturing, Elgin Street Sweepers, Guzzler industrial vacuum trucks and Jetstream high-pressure water blasters and Westech vacuum trucks.  Vactor/Guzzler is an industry leading manufacturer of sewer and catch basin cleaners, industrial vacuum loaders and vacuum excavators.  Elgin is a 100-year old brand and North America’s largest manufacturer of street sweepers. Jetstream is recognized as the industry-standard for high-pressure water blasting equipment.  Westech, which was recently acquired by Federal, manufactures high quality, rugged vacuum trucks.  Federal supplies both Municipalities and Contractors and JJE has been a top dealer for Federal for many years.

For the most part, this transition will be seamless to our customers and vendors.  The “JJE” name, current staff, JJE Leadership team, all geographic locations and our commitment to product support will all continue.   

The main advantage of the Federal investment, is that JJE will have additional resources to support our value proposition to our customers and suppliers.  This is a good thing.

JJE is proud to be a top dealer for manufacturers such as Labrie Enviroquip, Trackless Vehicles, Envirosight inspection cameras, NewWay refuse trucks, Engo ice resurfacers, Galbreath hoists and roll-offs, Epoke spreaders, and many other venerable lines.  JJE will be continuing as the exclusive representative for those product lines in its areas.
